Natasha & Jonathan’s plans changed many, many times throughout their engagement.
Because COVID didn't allow them to have their wedding at their dream venue, they did the best they could with the property they had access to – her parents' home. With the help of Natasha's parents, they cleared a section of bush, poured a cement slab and built an open-air structure for the reception. With Natasha’s design experience and Jonathan’s willingness to figure out how to execute the ideas, they built a ceremony structure to mimic the reception space, a gelato cart, a bar, and all the signage. Natasha also grew her own flowers to use in wedding design elements, and the floral design was absolutely breathtaking.
They started the morning apart, getting ready with their wedding parties in Orillia and Severn. When Jonathan was ready, he set out for Natasha’s parents’ home for a few moments with his bride before their ceremony. They were determined to wait to see each other until the ceremony, so Natasha met Jonathan with no peeking, and they had a “first no-look.” After they’d had a few minutes to catch up, catch their breath, and be together, their wedding party joined them, and Jonathan led the crew in taking communion together. Natasha and Jonathan came together through their faith and honoured God throughout the day with their sincerity and desire to worship.
Minutes after their communion, Natasha was walking down the aisle towards her Groom. The moment was emotional for everyone attending this small backyard wedding as Natasha’s Dad lifted her veil from her face and Jonathan took her hand. From there, the day rolled absolutely seamlessly. Their handwritten vows were so sincere and personal. And mixed in with all the tears was so much laughter and joy. Flower petals were tossed as they danced down the aisle after their first kiss. Their wedding party was never far from their side, and they enjoyed connecting with each of their guests and shared some gelato before their reception began.
It was important to these two to see the reception space before any of their guests had entered and it. was. stunning. Every detail was accounted for - from the handmade table numbers and place settings to the intricate and breathtaking floral arrangements to the backdrop for the head table. It was unbelievable. They enjoyed supper, speeches and then finally got to get to dancing! You can tell it had been a long year for everyone because they were ready to party!!
We had so much fun celebrating alongside Natasha and Jonathan and the rest of their loved ones and cannot wait to see what else life brings them! Congratulations, you two!
