Caitlyn and Ryan met seven and a half years ago at a club in their hometown. They both went to the same high school but didn't know each other because they’re two years apart. At first, they both said they were keeping it casual, especially when Caitlyn decided to move to Vancouver after they’d only been together for six months. Caitlyn lived out there for eight months, and in that time, they saw each other just a couple of times. First, Ryan went out to visit, and they both met down in Mexico for their first real trip together. They've gone to many, many concerts together, on random road trips and hikes with their pup, Ollie. They try not to take life too seriously and like to live spontaneously. You’ll hear in their vows about Caitlyn’s goofiness, but it really does go both ways. These two are always giggling and being silly together. But it’s more than that. You can see the deep respect they carry for each other. Ryan laughs a lot, but he’s also quick to tear up when he thinks about his love for Caitlyn. We met Caitlyn and Ryan at Caitlyn’s best friend’s wedding a year ago (ps, you can watch that film here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Npqw...). Their dedication to each other stood out then too, when Ryan was the errand-boy taking care of the bridal party, and mostly Caitlyn. They were excited about their plans for their wedding in 2020 with a bouncy castle, cotton candy, and all their favourite people. However, as 2020 progressed, their plans began to change. She’s not lying; they planned three weddings and cancelled two of them. Their plans kept changing, but their commitment to each other didn’t waver. I asked them what marriage means to them, and Caitlyn said, “Marriage is a commitment that we are going to be faithful to one another, and be someone to always help the other one grow. It's having a partner who will always make the other one laugh and smile, especially on the hardest of days, and be able to share in joy together on the happiest.” That was the commitment we witnessed at Heaven on Seven with twenty of their closest people. Their sincerity and passion for each other were tangible, and I’m pretty sure everyone cried multiple times throughout the day- I mean, we did. Now about this Magic Land… Caitlyn and Ryan’s wedding was at their caterer’s home in Bethany, Ontario. On the other side of the forest is the Wutai Shan Buddhist Temple, which is apparently built on sacred land. There were so many moments during their wedding day that felt like absolute magic. We had horses run up to them during their first look, the absolute perfect weather for an October in Ontario, and of course, all of Ryan’s tears. And as I mentioned before, their commitment to life together was absolutely perfect. This is the kind of magic we all hope for, and these two get to experience it together. Congratulations, Caitlyn and Ryan! We can’t wait to celebrate more with you when you have your party next year. Cheers to you for being flexible and prioritizing what is most important to you. May your marriage continue to be filled with magic.
