Brianna and Nigel met at work. Nigel had noticed her in the hallway a couple of times, and she wasn't hard to miss as she was in a cast from breaking her hand. Eventually, one day when Bri was in on overtime, their job duties overlapped for the day. She was working the access control desk, and Nigel was heading into the vault for a jump. He obviously needed any reason to talk to her, so he asked her to store some of his tools for him, which was odd, but she didn't think much of it. Then later in the day, when Bri needed a piece of equipment, instead of him simply grabbing it for her, he made her go with him to get it which was their first time really talking one-on-one. It really was a connection at first sight as they were both wearing hard hats and oversized blue coveralls. Two days after meeting, Bri was headed to Chicago with a couple of girlfriends, and Nigel waited patiently for her to get back so that he could message her to ask about the trip, and the rest is pretty much history from there.
They bonded over their love for sports and fitness, and Nigel grew to love travelling as much as Bri does. The early days of their relationship were spent travelling or planning their next trip together.
After three years of being together, they got engaged, which only seemed fitting after doing all the other "prerequisite steps." They had moved in together, built a house together, travelled together, got a dog together, and they preferred to get married before hopefully starting a little family of their own.
Bri and Nigel hoped it would come off as a casual, fun vibe when it came to their wedding. It really was all about just having their friends and family together finally. They wanted lots of great food, drinks and music but other than that it was really about having a fun celebration.
Their wedding was in Hanover, Ontario, at Ground Effects Landscapes' Special Events Centre on one of the hottest days of the year. There had been a risk of thunderstorms for the entire weekend, and somehow they held off until the dance party was well underway and then the sky let loose. It was a lovely, fun, laidback and meaningful day and came off just as they'd planned it: great food, drinks and music and a ton of fun!
