We met through a mutual friend during a day hanging out in ChinaTown while Sharrone was a senior in Highschool and Damian a Freshman in college. We continued to stay in contact and eventually started to go on dates together. We got engaged while traveling around Manhattan, and sitting in front of a statue in Union Square Park. Damian wrote three love letters, meant to bring our families together. One was given to her by my family, one was given to her by her family and the last one was given to her by Damian on the day he proposed. Our religion is Catholic. Damian is Latino (Cuban and Ecuadorian), Sharrone is African American ( Trinidadian). However, our wedding only included a prayer as our way of integrating religion into our wedding ceremony. One aspect that was unique about our wedding was that it was all planned out within a month and a half. Another aspect that was unique was a bizarre typo where we had an issue finding our Uber. When we got into the Uber, we explained to Karla (our officiant) that the Uber App crashed and that's why we were late. However, when it was typed in, it just stated that the Uber crashed, therefore, our officiant thought that something had happened, when it was a typo. She texted us, telling us to breath and stay calm, and we looked back to see why she texted us in that way. Once we noticed the typo, we quickly sent another message stating that we were fine and texted that it was the app that crashed, not our Uber!
