Wedding Date on Jun 10, 2017

From The Bride: We were introduced by a mutual friend as we were both approaching the final stretch of our college days. Everything we’d been hearing about one another was intriguing and exciting, but we were living in different states, doing completely different things. So many questions ran through our minds, but one mores than the rest: how could any relationship really begin if we weren’t living in the same state? On what now seems like the fateful trip that started it all, I took a huge leap of faith and drove 8 hours on I-57 South from west Michigan to southern Illinois to meet Juan. I had NO idea that those next few days would shift the story of our lives. The first full year of our relationship was long distance, but once college ended, I moved down to Southern Illinois to see where a big move like that would take us. We’ve spent the last 4.5 years getting to know each other through exploring and traveling, but also through staying put and enjoying each other’s company. Last August Juan’s proposal was a complete surprise, and this past June we got married. It was the most perfect day, even the 45 mph winds couldn’t stop the celebration!
