My very first proposal film! Wanted to dive deep into telling the full story for this one and I’m stoked with how it turned out
Rachel thought we were going out to film so I could practice on some new gear and techniques hehe
She had absolutely no idea that Bradford reached out to me a month or so prior with the idea to have me document this special moment for the two of them
We arrived at blue hour to find lightning over the horizon, and when the sun started to come up blessing us with hues of orange and deep pink, Bradford got down on one knee to ask the big Q
Rachel was stunned! We freakin pulled it off!
Shortly after she said yes, we looked up, and voila! A rainbow!
Their excitement and stoke for just getting engaged and all of the natural elements so uncannily present for their moment was so inspiring to me
I wanted them to remember all of these elements for years to come
The way they laughed and the way they smiled at one another. The deep feeling of being known by each other. And when they watch this film back years down the road, to be able to see how their love has grown and evolved and continued.
What a gift to be able to find story in every moment. I think this film is a good example that even if the story feels simple in structure (a proposal can sometimes feel like that), there are SO many story elements present. My job as a filmmaker is to find and preserve them. It really is my favorite thing. Always keeping it
Timeless
Honest
& true
Hope you love it!
With love,
