“Love is very suitable for this place, because I feel it really makes us truly feel what love is”
Symbolism to nature is one of my favorite things to incorporate within my work. I have had a previous client describe the nature surrounding them on their day as one of the most important guests.
Nature made itself known on K+K’s day in the most beautifully chaotic and spontaneous way. Snow on the mountains in the distance + rain + wind in the desert made for some moody and dramatic moments to so naturally occur. Something K+K fully embraced and leaned into.
These two reached out to me wanting a unique, honest and moving film that they could share either their parents and family in China who could not attend. They wanted their family to feel like they were there. One of my favorite super powers within a wedding video.
They also expressed wanting a film that touched on love being more than just the grand, big moments. But one that focused on the beauty of the ordinary.
Creating a space for my clients to feel truly comfortable in vulnerability feels really sacred to me. Asking them thought provoking questions that spark their own perspective and own train of thought is always the goal, and Kexin and Kristy’s words absolutely blew me away.
Kexin and Kristy’s day was fully spoken in Chinese. I had no idea what they were saying to one another until I received the translations back months after their wedding. I can’t put into words how moved I was listening back to it all. I can’t wait for you to get a glimpse into it yourself through this film.
I don’t have many words other than expressing my immense gratitude that people trust me to tell their stories and share their love. I felt this film in my soul throughout the entirety of the editing process and I am so thrilled that it is in my client’s hands and here for you to experience too.
Also I sill only know just one word in Chinese lol
With love,
Madeleine
