Morgan packed his bags in two suitcases, shipped his car across the country, and said goodbye to everything he had ever known in Rochester, NY to begin his new life on the west coast. Final Destination? San Diego International Airport. After a series of callings, promptings, and confirmations from the Lord, Morgan knew it was time to head to California to start a new job as the Youth Pastor of a church in the area. The night he arrived, he went to a church gathering. Emma and Morgan officially met this night. “You’re Morgan, right? Heard great things,” (followed with a firm handshake.) Emma left the gathering shortly after, the two never exchanging more than 6 words. Day 5 in San Diego. Morgan attended the church’s Friday night service and Emma was leading worship. After service, some of the young adults gathered for a game night. Morgan and Emma both attended. Although the two never spoke one-on-one that evening, Morgan left with a feeling that could only be explained by what happened a few hours later. That night as he lay in bed, he heard the Holy Spirit loud and clear: "That’s her." Emma and Morgan both received separate calls from friends offering them last-minute tickets to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Unaware that they were both going, Morgan and Emma joined two others and the small group of four took a train to Hollywood. Morgan and Emma sat next to each other on the train. Over the next few hours they all shared their stories with one another. Emma was oblivious throughout the trip, her only thought being,“the new youth pastor seems like a good fit!” Morgan, on the other hand, had different plans. Almost 2 years exactly from the day they met, Morgan’s plan to marry Emma were finally coming to fruition. A “sister photoshoot” turned into a surprise proposal. Emma and her sister had planned to model together for a friend who was building her photography business. After taking sister photos all morning, the two arrived at their last destination, to see a beautiful scene near the lake in Mission Trails. Red roses lined the path that laid before her. Emma's brother stood in the distance, playing guitar as she headed down the trail. The trees were strung with hundreds of photos that told Emma and Morgan's story through snapshots and memories. At the end of the path stood Morgan. The moment had come. Once they met, he recited a poem, (in typical Morgan fashion,) entitled, “Eternity.” Morgan got down on one knee and popped the question, to which Emma responded, “of course!” As he shouted, “She said yes!” Emma’s parents appeared out of the bushes. They screamed, they cried, and they popped champagne.
