The summer of 2012 I felt God calling me somewhere else. I was working as a nurse in Maine and was very unhappy. One rainy day, I found myself praying through tears in my car. As I approached a red light I slowed behind a car with a Tennessee license plate. In that moment, something felt right and there I decided that God was calling me to the south. I gave my notice at work the next day and a few months later found myself driving down to Nashville after securing a job at a local hospital. I didn't know a soul, and had never been to Nashville, but did find a roommate to live with off of craigslist. I promised myself this move was for me and I would give myself 6 months to find myself again and not seriously date anyone. Roughly 6 months after making Nashville home I celebrate NYE with my best friend downtown. We took loads of pictures and videos, as this was our first time celebrating a holiday in a big city. That night we made a few friends who would, two weeks later at my birthday party, introduce Ben and I. Funny part about it was, Ben was there that night at NYE but we never met, however he did make it into many pictures and even made an appearance in one of our many videos, just smiling. Ben is the kind of man you can't spend enough time with. He makes marriage easy. We've been together for 5 years and married for almost 2. We've bought and sold 2 houses together and are expecting our first child in late September. The best advice I have for anyone is marry someone with a big heart, someone who is kind and caring, who loves you on your good and bad days and who makes loving with all your heart always feel worth it. Ben is my very best friend and I am honored to be his wife.
