Allie had always dreamed of getting married at the house she grew up in (in La Honda, CA) at the same site that her parents were married at about 35 years ago. The location is set in the Santa Cruz Mountains with vast mountain views. Brandon knew that Allie did not want a very public proposal and knew how much her family and her childhood home meant to her. We had been together for about 7 years and had been holding off on getting engaged until Allie finished her schooling (Allie's idea). Finally, the timing just felt right. We had been talking about taking the next step more frequently, and went to look at rings together. We still were not pressuring each other, just making more a conversation. Brandon looked at rings and jewelers for 8 months to find the perfect, custom ring for Allie. The day that he proposed, we were walking down Allie's childhood home driveway, and Allie said "I think I'm ready to get engaged". Little did she know, Brandon had the ring with him and planned on proposing to her that day , on her 29th birthday. he thought to himself, "yeah you better be ready!". He asked her mom, dad and brother who all gave their blessing. We went to the top of the mountain as a group (mom, dad, brother, Allie and Brandon). They tricked Allie by telling her they were all going up to the "wedding site" to watch Jersey, Allie's parent's dog, run around with a gopro vest on haha. Brother brought his camera. We were sitting around, chatting, staring at the views, when Brandon asked Allie to stand. He went down on one knee and Allie exclaimed, "what the hell!". He gave his speech (we both blacked out and have no idea what he said). She said yes! They hugged, they kissed and celebrated with the family! Brother got everything on film (no sound) and still shots for forever memories. It was the perfect proposal and everything Allie would have wanted (and I love my ring!). :) Yay Brandon!
