Alex & Patrick met while working at the local Independent grocery store in Pickering, ON. Patrick worked in the produce department, and Alex worked in the glamorous deli department (hairnet and all!). They spent time getting to know each other on their breaks at work and soon began dating that Fall. On their early dates, they went on many walks with Patrick's family dachshunds, Dash & Charlie, went to two proms and ate way too many Boston Cream donuts. Their dates today look similar, walks with their adopted dachshund, Pablo, and breakfasts at Sunset Grill. Ten years later, Patrick & Alex are excited to celebrate a decade together by tying the knot surrounded by their close family. They’re best friends who simply want to tie the knot after ten years together! To them, marriage is a commitment to each other, with the support of their family and friends, that we are in this life together and we hope to be a great example of love to our children and our children’s children. They decided to get married now because COVID can’t take all of the things they were looking forward to in 2020! This year is a milestone anniversary for both of their parents (Alex’s parents – 10 years, Patrick’s parents – 30 years), and they’ve been such great supports for them as a couple that they wanted to celebrate this special year and mark their own tenth anniversary with the ones they love. They dressed up the backyard of Alex’s family home for their intimate, outdoor wedding. With fabric draped through the trees, meaningful pictures hung in the hedges and candles everywhere, you’d think that’s all the backyard needed. But you’d be wrong. They also filled the backyard with their families’ four adorable Dachshunds just as the perfect icing on the cake. The dogs were released into the backyard to begin the ceremony, roamed the backyard as Alex and Patrick shared their vows, and snuggled up with their families during the first kiss. Honestly, can we all just have a Dachshund now?? Now back to Alex and Patrick. The way that Alex looked at Patrick throughout the ceremony shows the love and commitment she holds for him. And the way he feels so at home with her is undoubtedly something special. They’ll continue to celebrate their relationship with another party next year. And that’s what we wish for you, Alex and Patrick, that you’ll continue to celebrate this special relationship and commitment you two share. Not just this year and next, but for all your years. Congratulations, you two.
