Wedding Date on Dec 1, 2018

Some time ago, long before Jamie even knew who Sophie was, Sophie used to say that she was “going to marry Jamie one day”. Soph admits to having had quite the crush on him! Sophie’s prediction was somewhat thwarted, however, because at the time, Jamie was already taken. Through the reach of social media, they eventually ended up getting in touch, but for all Sophie’s certainty about one day marrying Jamie, when he did eventually ask her out, she said “no” – and then did so on more than one occasion after that! Sophie says she’s not sure whether it was just nerves or whether she didn’t believe it was happening, but whatever it was, she finally gave in to Jamie’s persistence, and from there, everything just fell into place. And while they admit to having had a couple of hiccups early in the relationship, once they got those out of the way, it’s been plain sailing since. But what a whirlwind romance! Within two months of their first encounter, Sophie had moved in with Jamie, and within four months, Jamie was organising the ring. They say that while it all happened very quickly, neither of them doubted for a second that their commitment to one another or the relationship wasn’t genuine. And so, after Jamie took possession of the ring, and within six months of them getting together, on 9 December 2017, Sophie’s prediction came true. Jamie asked her to marry him. I have to say that the proposal wasn’t the best timing on Jamie’s behalf. (I hope you’ve learned from this Jamie!). He arranged it by booking a weekend away for the pair of them – right at the same time as Soph’s best friend’s baby shower. Not knowing what was in store, Sophie was devastated; especially when she’d already told Jamie that she was booked for that weekend. Sophie says she felt terrible for not being there for Jade, but she also admits that when she came back with a ring on her finger, it made it all worthwhile! Jamie and Sophie say that they have never doubted how they feel about each other. They truly believe that everything in life that has happened between them, is as it was meant to be.
