From The Bride: Landon and I met in June 2013 as neighbors at a country festival in Grand Junction, Colorado. This was only 10 days after Landon came home from his 6 years in the Navy. I went with my sorority sisters and he went with his brother and some friends. We met the first day and danced the night away. We hung out the rest of the trip and the group I went with had an unfortunate event, so Landon had to take me home. He thought I was using him for a ride, but that was not the case! We hung out that whole summer and fell in love within the first month of dating. When the summer ended we were long distance for two years due to him starting college in Fort Collins at Colorado State and myself starting Graduate school at the University of Denver in the school psychology program. We saw each other on the weekends and had many Skype dates. This helped us really get to know each other and made this time very special. When he proposed it was the spring of 2015 prior to me moving to Fort Collins to start my internship. When we met in summer of 2013 we never had a 1st date so that August of that year he took me to an Italian restaurant and we talked at a park bench for hours. That is when I knew he was the one! Two years later he took me to that same spot, telling me it was a date night where he then asked me to sit in the same park bench where we talked for hours two years prior. He asked me to marry me and had a photographer capture the entire proposal. I was so shocked and so happy to be marrying my best friend! With planning the wedding we knew we wanted a summer wedding and to get married where Landon grew up in Palisade. My grandparents died when I was very young so it was very important for his grandparents to be able to be there. We found a wedding planner and fell in love with the local winery in the area. It was so romantic and was in the same area we met in 2013. I was finishing school and we were living about 5 hours away so my vendors were a life saver for me to balance everything. Through all the planning our favorite time during the wedding planning was spending time with one another. We made sure to read books and we did go to marriage counseling. That scheduled time together ensured that we could spend time together through the chaos. Looking back and watching our wedding video reminds us how much we love one another and how thankful we are to have met eachother. The vow to take to love one another every day of our lives is the best gift we could ever have in this life.
