Where do we even begin with such an incredible love story? Roxanna and Nate met at a church camp eight years ago when they were just starting high school. She knew right then that he was the one for her. Although their love story began when they were so young, they've been able to grow and experience so much of life together, which has only strengthened and solidified their love for one another. From traveling the world and volunteering in Brazil to moving to New York City to begin their married life, they've stayed beside one another through it all. In 2013, at the summit of a solo mountain hike, Nate felt the call to write down his reflections on his love for Roxanna and if she would marry him, stashing his note under a stone near the mountaintop. Four years later, he returned to that very spot to again meditate on his love for her, this time preparing himself to propose to her. Amazingly, he found his note untouched, and upon climbing down the mountain, he presented her with it and a ring, to a resounding and long-awaited “yes” from Roxanna. After many years of hoping and wishing and waiting, their day was finally real. They were married on a family friend's land in the middle of the beautiful and lush Black Forest, with acres and acres all to themselves. Their day was so unique and full of intention, right down to the enchanted hike to the ceremony site, adorned all along the way with photos of their love through the eight year journey that led them there. Roxanna and Nate’s vow exchange is something we will never forget; so raw, vulnerable, and brimming with emotion almost a decade in the making. Honestly, we had to take a step back and remember that we were still filming, because what we were witnessing was so heartening and intimate that, for those few minutes, the rest of the world completely melted away. Their words are, by far, some of the most emotional and heartfelt promises we’ve heard any two people make to and for each other. The reception was a flurry of tacos, ice cream, and their closest friends and family laughing and dancing the night away beneath little more than the starlight above. Roxanna and Nate kicked the party into high gear with a jaw-dropping choreographed first dance, underscoring the sheer joy they spark in each other. Really, their entire day was a monument to their completeness and overflowing love, caught in shared glances, interlaced fingers, and hollered from new mountaintops. Our words can never fully express just how special these two are, so a film may have to do the trick.
