Kolby and Sam have had quite the adventurous love story - while Sam was stationed in Virginia Beach they were introduced to one another at a cookout and their connection was immediately sparked. A couple months into their relationship Sam was to report to his new station in Nevada and they had to decide whether or not they wanted to do the long distance thing - they obviously chose it was definitely worth the distance and Kolby and Sam went on a cross country road trip together to see Sam off in Nevada. Along the way they visited three National parks and camped and hiked in the snow truly getting to know one another. Pretty shortly after their long distance relationship started, the talks of marriage and their future began - even though they weren’t officially engaged at this point they were so sure of their future together that Kolby bought a dress and they hired their photographer and videogrpher (us!) before the actual proposal even happened! When the proposal finally did happen (albeit only a couple months later) even though Kolby knew it was eventually coming she was completely surprised. She flew out to Nevada to celebrate hers and Sam’s bday (their birthdays are only four days apart) and as soon as she landed Sam got out on one knee and proposed in front of all of the bystanders. He said he couldn’t wait and just had to do it as soon as he saw her (!!!). A couple months after the engagement Kolby moved to Nevada to be with Sam and they eloped shortly after in August, making the entirety of their relationship less than a year. There’s nothing quite as magical as an elopement, and Kolby and Sam’s day was exactly that—magic. These two had barely met a year before saying “I do,” but you could feel how strong their connection was in every little touch and passing glance; they were overflowing with love for one another. We woke up super early and had the mountains and lakes all to ourselves as they vowed each other their love forever, and we felt like family by the afternoon. We’re still in a daze over the love from this day and these two! They fell in love fast and hard and are a true testament to ‘when you know, you know’. Everything about who they are as a couple reiterates just how much they are meant to be with one another and we are so incredibly grateful to have been able to capture this once in a lifetime kind of love.
