We are so happy and honored to have photographed and filmed Nicola & Paul's sunny vegan elopement in Joshua Tree National Park. Nicola & Paul met in school and they have been together ever since. They flew all the way from Wales to elope in their favorite place, Joshua Tree National Park, California on their 15 year anniversary, May 23, 2019. In 2016, they came to California for a 2 week road trip and had the experience of a lifetime. There was just something about Joshua Tree which never left them and as soon as they got engaged they knew it was the only place they wanted to get married. We had an amazing time with them. First, meeting up for some vegan pizza and drinks at People's Pizza in the small town of Joshua Tree. We started off their big day in a super hip airbnb as they got ready for the day. Paul is the wholesale manager at Clifton Coffee Roasters so he knows how to brew a good cup. He made us a couple of pour overs with some of our favorite coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Company and it was sooo good! Nicola & Paul had their first look outside against the backdrop of some beautiful desert greenery and the emotions started rolling. From there, we were off to one of our favorite places, Joshua Tree National Park. We captured lots of desert portraits amongst the unique boulders and Joshua Trees on our way to their ceremony at Cap Rock. We took our time and really got to take in the beauty of the park and enjoy every moment. Their ceremony was set amongst a backdrop of vintage rugs and boho decor from Skywild Designs and coordinated by their planner The Walk Down The Aisle. Their ceremony was filled with tears of joy as the sun lowered in the desert sky. After they tied the knot, they popped some bubbly and we all got to eat some of the best vegan cake by Over The Rainbow Desserts. Then it was time for our favorite part of a Joshua Tree National Park elopement, the sunset at Keys View. Here, we got to capture the final rays of sunlight backlighting Nicola & Paul as it dropped below the mountain. They were so happy on that mountain top, it was awesome! And then there was the magical afterglow with the pink sky and emerging stars illuminating the most epic views overlooking Coachella Valley. It's like a huge and satisfying exhale at the end of a truly amazing and memorable day.
