Take a trip with us through time and space to an elegant, cozy estate in the English Countryside. Looking through Megan and Ryan’s wedding day, you will genuinely feel transported as you take in her heirloom wedding gown, his tweed suit, the iconic Indiana Landmark Center venue, and the stunning and historic Morris-Butler House. While the weather tried it’s best to dampen their day, it actually led us to capturing the most stunning, creative, and timeless images in the Morris-Butler House as we hid from the rain and winds!
There are so many things about this wedding worth noting and getting inspiration from, but I’ll kick it off with the story of Megan and Ryan.
It’s a college love story that turned in to a sunset proposal in the area we just moved to - Broad Ripple! Megan and Ryan are so clearly made for each other from the supportive way they work together but also the sheer joy and happiness in the air when you share space with these two. Being with them throughout their wedding day (oh! AND it was Megan’s birthday!) was such a gift.
For her wedding gown, Megan had her mom’s wedding dress tailored to perfectly fit her. It was even tailored by the daughters of the seamstress who made the original dress when Megan’s mom got married! There were multiple heirloom pieces worked in throughout their day that filled everything with even more meaning.
One thing we really loved was their dance floor! It was an epic winter wedding party. From Ryan carrying Megan into the reception like the Stanley Cup Trophy to their guests joining in for the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance, the reception was a party all night long! We ended everything with a snowy send-off and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.
If you’re looking for winter wedding inspiration or for the perfect venue in Indianapolis, this is the one for you!
