Laura moved to Hawaii in search of adventure and finding her individualism. A short time in, she met Christian, a US Marine who was stationed in Oahu. They connected immediately over witty banty in a local bar, and those conversations eventually evolved into a fun, easy-going romance. Unfortunately, Christian recieved orders from the military that he'd be restationed to Virginia - 1000s of miles away from Laura. The night before he left, he self-admittedly called his mom crying and saying how he was afraid of losing Laura - that she was "the one". And so he moved to Virginia, and they kept their love alive long distance. It was hard but they made it work. Spring of 2019, she traveled from Hawaii to DC on a vacation together and it was there amongst the blooming cherry blossoms on Tidal Basin that he proposed. This wasn't the end of their struggles, as then during their wedding planning a pandemic called Coronavirus swept the world and they postponed their wedding plans 3 times. It was finally on 12/20/2020 that they stopped postponing, tied the knot with a fraction of the guests they initially planned for, and they made it work. The motto of their story: making it work and love will prevail.
