Wedding Date on Jan 8, 2022

Kirsten and Scott met on the dating app, Hinge, which they say is the best dating app 🤣 For the proposal, Scott picked up a pizza from Kirsten's favorite childhood pizzeria (her favorite food) and had roses all over the kitchen. After dinner he told her they were going to make sundaes (her favorite dessert). They got ice cream from her favorite place, but needed some time after dinner. Scott went in the bedroom and put a bowtie collar on their dog with the ring attached. The dog came out a minute later (meanwhile Scott was freaking out, praying the dog didn't eat the ring or rip off the collar). He walked up to Kirsten and she took a solid twenty seconds to notice there was a ring attached. When she finally noticed it, she freaked out and Scott asked her to marry him. They eventually ate those sundaes, too. As far as their wedding vision prior to planning, Scott had several different ideas, but none of them came close to how perfect it turned out. Describing the wedding in their own words, Scott said, "When I first read this question I thought it said, 'describe your wedding day in two words,' and my immediate thought was freaking phenomenal. I include that because it sums it up perfectly. Everything was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better day." Scott says his favorite moment was Kirsten walking towards him in her dress. There are so many amazing moments but her walking towards him, kissing her and seeing her smile and cheer rank highly. Scott's dad and brother and Kirsten's maid of honor all gave amazing speeches, too. He said It's tough to pick one favorite from such a great day. Their color palette and style vision for the wedding was hunter green and gold accents. They wanted things to look classy and elegant. In reference to their wedding details, their centerpiece flowers alternated between tables. Half the tables had whites, ivories, and greens in gold flower holders. The other half had floating candles with flowers with a matching color scheme. They liked the idea of having some diversity so everything didn't look cookie cutter. They had several wedding favors. They gave out hand sanitizer that read, "spread love not germs", chapstick, sunglasses, and actual gift bags. They also gave out flip flops for the ladies so they could dance. Their gift bags were colored hunter green to keep with the theme. The bags were stuffed with snacks, drinks, all the items above, and Tylenol/ibuprofen. Kirsten wanted to make sure everyone had everything they needed, regardless of what issue they ran into. Their cake had 4 tiers and 3 flavors. The flavors were mocha, orange creamsicle, and pumpkin. They wanted the cake cut thin so everyone could have some of each! Scott's favorite was the orange creamsicle. A unique element they included was a Jewish tallit in the chuppah that Scott's grandparents gave him from Israel. This was to represent them as they couldn't attend the wedding, so it's as if they were there. The glass that was smashed was special ordered with their favorite color schemes so they could keep the shards and do something unique with them (picture frame, mezuzah, etc). Their advice for couples-to-be is enjoy the day. There is a lot of lead up and planning, but when it all comes together, spend time with all those who are there. Your family and guests are there to celebrate you and your spouse. Just take it all in, enjoy it, and have a great wedding experience. Make sure to spend time with your bride/groom, too. It's easy to get pulled away, but it's your day with them.
