Chris and Kelly were the 23rd couple to be married at her family's breathtaking estate which they affectionately refer to as 'The Farm'. Her grandparents revived the property over the years to be a retreat full of love, beauty and happiness. It has also become THE spot to get married.
Being in that long line of couples to celebrate their marriage at this most special property - including Kelly's parents and each of her siblings - there were many nostalgic traditions she spent her life watching. Alas, it became her turn. Some of our favorite Farm wedding traditions include: The gigantic heart on the hill with the first initial of each person getting married. For these two - it was K C ❤. And the excalibur ride following the "I Do's". Could anything be more epic?
Each couple also weaves in their own special touches to make the celebration their own.
While freshman at Penn State University, Kelly and Chris were introduced by a mutual friend. It wasn't long until they became the best of friends. That "just friends" status lasted a year before they took the next step in their relationship - and they have been together ever since. While opposite in many ways, their differences only serve to bring them closer. With a strong friendship as their foundation, and traits that serve to complement one another beautifully, they really are the perfect match.
After enduring years of long distance post college graduation, their home base finally aligned in New Orleans where they lived for five years.
Their years spent at PSU, as well as those in NOLA, were some of the best of their lives. Thus- they wanted to bring a bit of spirit from both to their wedding celebration.
They had a traditional New Orleans Second Line from the dinner tent down to the dance floor - and it was everything you'd imagine it would be. They also added a special Penn State Shot at the end of dinner to cheers their years there.
The magic of the Farm was alive and well for these two: truly the kindest, most intelligent, talented, beautiful pair. Cheers to spending a lifetime with the one you adore the most! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Dorogy!
