Kellan and Katie met in college. Kellan had switched majors at Washington State University, which forced him to take one summer class. During that time he got a job working at the indoor track facility, where Katie frequented as a manager of the track team and pole vaulting squad. This is where they set eyes on each other for the first time. It is also where Kellan got the nickname "bubble boy" from Katie, since she didn't know his name, and the facility was referred to as "the bubble". After they finally connected and set a dinner date, they both recalled knowing that night that they had met "the one". And the rest was history.
