From the bride: Jason & I met while he was a first year PhD student at University of Washington and I was a 5th year undergrad via Tinder. He swiped on me because I looked outdoorsy. I swiped on him because I didn't have a car and it said he went to UW. We met, went on some outdoor adventures, and then I left for 10 weeks to go to South America solo which is when we both realized that each other's company was something that was truly important to us. Our story is rooted in the outdoors. Our friends would describe us as two individuals who don't know how to sit down. They joke about how our summer calendar is always full of hikes. We got engaged in March 2021 while snowshoeing near Mount Saint Helens - which is the first volcano we ever summited together. This made the proposal even more special and we actually got MSH engraved on Jason's wedding ring. As a couple, we're obsessed with national parks. We've been to 20 US National Parks together in the 4 .5 years we've been together and we have many more on the roster. Our tables at our wedding are actually named after national parks we've been to together as a special ode to our love for them. Our cake topper is also a national park sign with our names.
