Katherine and Brian met in January 2012 at a Hippie themed fraternity/sorority mixer. Katherine was wearing rose-colored glasses and daisies in her hair, Brian was hoping to snag her peace sign necklace to improve his lacking costume. It was crush at first sight. Their relationship slowly developed and by the time Brian was leaving for Patagonia for 6 months in October we had fallen. While Brian was in South America they had to go more than a month at a time without any communication, other than written letters. They would wait in anticipation for their letters to arrive, and you know what they say...distance makes the heart grow fonder. By the time Brian got back to America, they were excited to start their lives together. They moved to Charlotte together and got their first corporate jobs. A year and a half later they made the move to Breckenridge, Colorado to see what other adventures they could find. Today, Brian skis every day 8 months out of the year, and is a ski patroller at Arapahoe Basin. Katherine works at a local Land Trust and is in graduate school at Denver University for environmental sustainability.
