Wedding Date on Aug 17, 2019

Christine and Patrick met at Colby College (aka Camp Colby) during the summer of 2010. Patrick was on campus catching butterflies as a research assistant for Professor Wilson's Maine Butterfly Survey Project, and Christine was a summer intern at the Colby College Museum of Art. Christine caught Patrick's eye and he was thrilled to finally get a hold of her phone number. He gathered the courage to text her one night; however, Christine, who was notoriously bad with her phone, did not respond until the next day. Patrick took this delayed response to heart and assumed she was not interested, so he did not pursue her again. They spent their senior year in college as friendly acquaintances. After graduation, Christine ended up back in her hometown of Denver, Colorado and Patrick ended up in pharmacy school in Boston, Massachusetts. Two years after that fateful summer, Christine was visiting friends in Boston for Friendsgiving in November 2012. That weekend Christine and her friends decided to go dancing both Friday and Saturday night. Naturally, Boston was a landing ground for many of their Colby classmates, so everyone ended up at the same pubs every weekend. The first night Christine and her friends went out, Patrick was excited to see that she was in town. They chatted but Patrick was not much of a dancer, so he decided to go home early. The next night, they ended up at the same pub again. This time, Christine's friends nudged her to go talk to Patrick. She pulled him onto the dance floor and the rest is history. Starting as a long-distance couple was a challenge as they were not able to see each other very often. They stayed in touch through calls, emails, and letter-writing until Christine moved to Boston to attend grad school. To this day, Christine and Patrick still write each other letters. Every time Christine returns from a business trip, Patrick has a card waiting for her filled with puns and inside jokes. He used these puns and inside jokes to write the clues for the scavenger hunt he orchestrated to propose to Christine in July 2017. Patrick's clues led Christine through the city of Boston and took her to all her favorite places. The final clue led Christine to North Point Park in Cambridge where Patrick was waiting with a ring. That night they returned to the pub where they first hit it off and shared a dance where it all began.
