Wedding Date on Oct 6, 2018

We met at Wesleyan University in our sophomore year shortly after Jena transferred from NYU. We had a lot of mutual friends and ended up at many of the same parties. Though it seems clear from this picture from college that Pearce already loved Jena, we didn't start dating until years after college. Pearce, an avid snapchat user, sent a video to all his contacts, and Jena, not knowing anything about technology or snapchat, thought Pearce had sent it just to her. She responded and they started texting back and forth. Pearce came into the city for drinks and over wine and a foot rub, we caught up. A couple of months later, we went to our 5 year Wesleyan reunion together and told all our friends that we were "kind of a thing." It took Pearce another couple months to admit that Jena was his girlfriend, but we have been together ever since. Pearce proposed while we were away for a very belated 30th birthday trip (when he was already 31) for Pearce in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It was the one weekend Jena didn't think he was going to pop the question because she had planned everything. We went ice skating, and Pearce told Jena to take out her phone and record him doing a trick. Jena thought he was just messing around and was very confused when he skated toward her, got down on one knee, and proposed. After many minutes of "are you serious?" driving a zamboni across the ice, and having strangers cheer for us, Jena finally said yes (we think).
