Casual weddings are most often a style used in backyard weddings, but we also see it at beach or tented weddings. For the attire, brides may want to wear a tea-length dress or jumpsuit. Grooms should stick to lighter shades, like tan, and toss the jacket.

A casual wedding is playful, fun and great for weddings with a smaller guest list. The ceremony is often outdoors or hosted in a backyard and we love the thought of using benches for the seating to really keeps the formality to a minimum. String lights are a must!

There's no need for china or chargers at a casual reception so have fun with the place settings, like a patterned or textured placemat. As for food, comfort food is a no-brainer. Try an elevated version like mini chicken and waffles or shooters of tomato soup with tiny grilled cheese bites on the side. We encourage you to consider family-style dining as opposed to a formal plated dinner.

The Goodwood estate began in the 1830's as a cotton and corn plantation. By the early 20th century the property's agricultural emphasis had declined and the main house turned in to an elegant private residence. In 1990 the estate was bequeathed to a private not-for-profit foundation to preserve the property as a house museum and public park.
