From the Bride: We were set up by a mutual friend. Our first date was a blind date. When it came time to propose, we lived in Florida and his entire weekend getaway plan got messed up by Irma last September. We ended up leaving the state to get away from the storm and ended up at my parents house in Tennessee. When we got to TN we surprised my parents as they knew we left but didn't know we were going all the way to their house. Prior to all of this, Jason asked my dad to marry me back in July at Arrington Vineyards. After being cooped up with my parents for a few days at their house during the storm, he asked if we could do our own thing and go to dinner. Jason and I got ready for dinner and my parents left the house to go have drinks with friends. It was a gorgeous sunset at the house so we ended up having wine/beer chatting on the back porch. My dad and Jason spent the morning/afternoon building an arbor that my dad set up in the back yard. While we were talking and enjoying a drink he asked me to go with him downstairs to check in out. While we were down there inspecting it, I turned around and he took a knee. I won't share everything he said, but his opening line was... "You know what is truly interesting about storms, is that sometimes in life we are going to need to weather the storms together....." He asked me and I asked him several questions/promises to make me in return and then I said yes! We have been engaged by the time we get married a year.
