Wedding Date on Aug 7, 2021

Patrick and Isemythe met online on a dating website. They chatted through the app for a while and then exchanged numbers. The proposal was clever. They were at home after returning from running errands. Isemythe wasn’t feeling well, so she was lying on the sofa. Patrick went upstairs to supposedly shower and called to tell her he forgot to feed her fish. Isemythe was upset and ran up the stairs to see rose petals and candles everywhere…and then he popped the question. For her wedding vision, Isemythe always wanted a big wedding with all of her family and friends. She wanted lots of flowers everywhere and wanted everyone to have a good time. The wedding day was a bit hectic. Isemythe said, "It’s definitely true what everyone says…the day flies by". Although they were behind schedule, they enjoyed the process. The ceremony was special to them because they got to include their own little touches like the wine ceremony. At the reception it looked like the guests enjoyed the night, which was really important to them. My favorite moment was finally walking down the aisle and seeing everyone for the first time especially my husband. Patrick’s favorite moment was the wine ceremony. Their colors were rose gold, dusty rose, and champagne. The groom and groomsman wore navy blue. Isemythe really wanted something elegant, but not trendy. RJ Glam provided the flowers, which included plenty of roses of varying sizes. Isemythe wanted to feel like she was surrounded by flowers and was able to do just that. She had two gowns, both of which were purchased from MD Bridal Couture in Maryland. Isemythe wore a ball gown with a cathedral veil for the ceremony, and a mermaid style gown that she altered for the reception. Her shoes were from Jimmy Choo, and were surprisingly comfortable for 4.5 inch heels. Isemythe and Patrick did not provide favors, but they did gift their guests with welcome baskets. These baskets included a bottle of wine, snacks, water, hand sanitizer, etc. Their cake was a four layer cake made by Sprinkles bakery. The flavors included almond, chocolate, amaretto, and a chocolate/vanilla mix. Isemythe and Patrick are both really close to their families. Because of that, during the ceremony they had the pastor ask each side of the family if they accept each other into the respective families. They included the wine ceremony because they both enjoy wine and thought it was a good way to symbolize the two of them becoming one. Lastly, Isemythe and Patrick wanted to make sure that they included certain aspects of their culture in the wedding, like the bridal party dance during the procession. Isemythe said her piece of advice for brides-to-be is to make sure you have a coordinator. Build extra time into the timeline. It may seem silly, but make sure you communicate which each vendor in explicit details exactly what your expectations are. Do not assume the photographer is going to take certain shots. She would also like to tell future brides to just try and enjoy the day. It will go by fast, so try to take in every moment. What an incredible wedding!
