Anthony was working on a side project with someone that Emma used to work with (Josh) and Emma was coming in to help out. The first time they laid eyes on each other was at a meeting where Anthony was wearing his short shorts before a soccer game. Emma told her mom how cute he was and her mom said she'd have a date within a week! A few days later, they both attended a charity event and by the end of the night, had hit it off. They went on a real date a few days later. The rest is history :) In 2017, Anthony was planning the ring and proposal for months before it actually happened. This is surprising because he never plans anything. Emma's mom (Gail) and sister (Chloe) were exceptionally helpful during this process. Emma's family always goes to hang out with their uncle in Aspen in the summer and Anthony has been going since the summer after they started dating. One of the few things that they consistently do alone, just the two of them, is hike Aspen Mountain. This happens during the trip every year and combines some of their favorite things - being outside, exercising, having great conversations, and taking occasional selfies. Anthony had decided this hike was the perfect way to propose. A story was concocted for Gail, Chloe, Emma's Uncle and grandparents to be at the top of the mountain (by taking the gondola) because they "hadn't been up in a while". Chloe was able to film Emma and Anthony finishing the 3000 ft climb without much suspicion from Emma. After finishing, while going to take a picture with the incredible view, Anthony pulled out the ring that had been hidden in his backpack. Instead of posing, he got on one knee, and Emma memorably said "Are you fucking kidding me?!" She was utterly shocked (because Anthony can't plan shit) and overwhelmingly happy to realize it was a real proposal. Chloe was again secretly filming the whole thing. We went down the mountain in the gondola and had an amazing lunch celebrating with family. When planning their wedding, Emma and Anthony wanted every moment to be personal and reflective of who they are as individuals and as a couple. From their Instagram famous Ziggy Stardust/David Bowie themed engagement photos by Jessica Oh to their non-denominational music themed ceremony, performed and officiated by friends, to their surprise flash mob at the reception, Emma and Anthony threw a wedding celebration full of joy, dancing, laughter that we'll never forget.
