Jillian and Parker, an upbeat and happy NYC couple tell the story of how they met in school and have grown together. Every year Jillian runs the NYC marathon in honor of Sandy Hook Promise and raises donations to prevent school shootings across the nation. The night before the 2021 marathon, Jillian and Parker found themselves trapped in their apartment as the building began to fill with smoke. Unable to see they used their voices and felt for the stairs as they made their way out of the burning building. Unfazed, Jillian showed up to the marathon the next morning, lungs on fire, coughing, and completing the 26.2-mile race. Jillian, a speech pathologist, and Parker, a software engineer use communication in their careers, relationships, and actions to improve the world. This film does not explore the tragedies and challenges they have faced but instead focuses on their resilience as that is what defines them best.
