Wedding Date on Oct 2, 2021

[*Flash Warning*] Devin + Getachew's Teaser Film Hey lovelies, Jesse here! 👋🏼 I wanted to be the one to write this caption because this bride and I go way back. Back in the summer of 2016, Devin interned at the marketing agency I was working for at the time. Tbh, I think she did more work there than most of us. She was organized, eager to help, and always pushed herself to learn more. She was as stellar of a person then as she is now. I remember her talking about this guy she was dating - how he was adopted from Ethiopia and how she also had siblings from Ethiopia. He and her siblings were all adopted from the same agency. I remember seeing how happy she was when she talked about him and the impact he’s had on her life. Then, in her wedding planning, we reconnected to be part of her vendor team. This brings us here. The moment I met Getachew, I got it. I could see everything that had lit up in D’s eyes. He was so positive, nurturing, and easygoing all day. They made each other laugh so easily and had a bond far deeper than just having known each other since high school. They share something that goes beyond a long friendship - an understanding and appreciation of each other and all the coincidences that brought them into each other’s lives. D said it best in her vows, “When I think of you, I think of home”. Because no matter where they came from, home is together. They celebrated, danced, ate amazing Ethiopian food, and honored the culture. Once upon a time, many years ago at a cookout celebrating the families of that adoption agency, D’s mom claimed that the two of them would get married one day. Turns out moms can sense a fairytale with a happy ending when they see one. 🤍
