In July 2017, Cody was thrown from his bike by a hit-and-run drunk driver. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for two days. But, his story doesn’t end there and his love story with Katy is only just beginning. This story of love and perseverance will bring you to tears. When Katy + Cody met in high school and shared their first “I love you” at the hallway ramp at the S-Wing in between classes, they were building the foundation to a relationship that wouldn’t falter even in their toughest moments. Cody feels that without Katy, he would still be in a wheelchair and drinking out of a straw. Katy knows that Cody’s drive makes her feel like she can do anything. Together, they defy all expectations. Katy + Cody were married at the historic Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, MA. It started to rain right before their ceremony but, mirroring their love story, they forged ahead. A little rain wasn’t going to stop these two now. And then, just as they shared their first kiss...the sun came out and brought a beautiful rainbow with it. It was almost to say, “You did it”. In Katy’s words, “this life is absolutely ridiculous, when you think about it”. We adore these two. Their love is inspiring and their love story is one that can’t help but touch your heart. Life is fragile and there are moments that make a resounding impact, but love is a force like no other.
