Amanda + Hass didn't want a big wedding. Hass had been asking for a small, intimate wedding so much so that Amanda began planning it in secret. Then, just two weeks before the date she revealed the plan to him. For them, the most important part of their wedding outside of the love they have for each other was the joining of their two families. With Amanda's two young daughters and Hass' teenage son as their "bridesmaids" and "groomsman" they chose to have their intimate ceremony in the middle of Joshua Tree National Park, children at their side. Amanda's sister officiated and their immediate family and friends joined them in the desert. Before Hass knew the plan, Amanda brought up Joshua Tree, and Hass reminisced about his only memory there. He had gone with some friends years before, and they arrived at sunset, sitting in the quiet as the sky turned gold and pink. So to end their wedding day they got to share a gorgeous Joshua Tree sunset, this time together as husband and wife.
