AJ and I met during college, because we were in the same friend group with his fraternity. For a couple years, we remained good friends. However, my last semester in college before I left for nursing school, AJ and I started having more serious conversations and taking our friendship to a new level. We both got the sense this was something special! The rest of that semester and over the summer, we stayed in touch. When fall rolled around, it was a sad realization that we would not be in the same place anymore, and our relationship would have to be more intentional. With the help of good friends, a fraternity formal in Colorado, and late nights and early mornings on the road, we decided to go for the long distance relationship! Dating AJ was the easiest thing I have ever done. It was so natural, comfortable, and I felt so at peace. It is an amazing thing when you find that person that you could never live without. We are truly best friends for life! For my two remaining years of nursing school we traded weekends traveling back and forth to each other. 9 months in, AJ proposed on our college campus where our love story began! We knew we wanted something smaller, intimate, and special--so we decided on a destination-style wedding in the mountains of South Carolina, at a chapel that was so beautiful and special to us. On June 11, 2018, 50 of our nearest and dearest traveled from Kansas to South Carolina to witness our marriage. It was nothing short of our wildest dreams! The wedding was amazing, but the marriage is even better. THANK YOU to Kathryn with Blnk Films, for so beautifully documenting our wedding day! We could not have asked for anything more. As a side story: I found Kathryn and knew she would be my videographer when I stumbled upon her wedding video of the McKone's here on LoveStoriesTV. I made the right decision--let this video speak for itself! Memories to last a lifetime.
