Wedding Date on Jun 23, 2017

Zeke and Katy met when they were 17 years old on a trip in Washington DC. The local high schools had an essay writing competition for the electric companies in the area and the grand prize was an all expense paid trip to DC along with students from all across the country. To their surprise they both won their respective counties, Rutherford and Bedford County. It was on the Monday of the trip that Zeke and Katy met on the steps of the US Capitol, followed each other around through the exhibits and museums, danced together at the "end of the trip" party, and sat together on the plane ride home. The day of their wedding will mark 5 years and 5 days from the day they met, which is also the day they consider to be their anniversary since he was too afraid to actually ask Katy to be his girlfriend. On July 31, 2016, Zeke proposed to her on the steps of the Nashville Capitol to symbolize how they met at the US Capitol. It was the perfect day and perfect proposal. He even had her dad there to capture the moment on camera.
