Let's rewind to 2014. It was a beautiful July night in San Diego, California where Yodit was attending university. On this particular evening, Yodit decided to go out with friends just as she might any other evening. But this particular night, she would come face to face with her future husband.
Out on the dance floor, surrounded by her girls, she suddenly locks eyes with Jonathan. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and their bodies are quickly in sync with the pulsing music. They danced the night away and knew that they just had to see each other again.
And now, eight years later, we celebrate the beginning of "forever" for these two! We split the day between the National Cathedral -- where we executed some very elegant and romantic portraits with the bridal party -- and The Schuyler in Hamilton Hotel. The Schuyler hosted the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception for Yodit and Jonathan's 250 cheering fans.
Something that really stood out to us was the immediacy in which guests from each side were taken in as family. The reception kicked off with an incredible Eritrean tradition with guests on either side waving palm leaves. We loved how this included every guest to have a hand in the celebration and really be part of the events that were happening in front of them.
It was such a fun and joyous experience, and the energy was truly unmatched by anything we've seen before!
