This dreamy, romantic elopement at the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon will have you wanting to see more. Grab the tissues, Tommy and Vy will have you in tears listening to their vows and watching them say I do in one of the most beautiful places in the state. Tommy and Vy knew of each other through attending the same church. However, they never really talked, until a summer church camp 10 (!) years ago! Tommy started taking notice of Vy, who later admitted to having developed a mini crush on him then as well. Tommy was nearing the end of his freshman year at Oregon State University, and Vy in her senior year of high school, with plans to start at Stanford University in the fall. A gazillion texts and a number of dates later, the two made their relationship official on July 23rd, 2011. It was a huge leap of faith for them, as both were unsure of how, or if, to make long-distance work. But God made it work. Thanks to the existence of cell phones, computers, and airplanes, Vy and Tommy managed to support each other as they grew personally and professionally. Five years of long-distance finally came to an end when Vy moved back to Portland to start medical school, where Tommy was also attending dental school. During a trip to Hawaii with some close friends, Tommy popped the question, to which Vy repeatedly yelled out "no!" Thankfully, that's just what Vy says when she is surprised. She really meant YES! Through 8 years of dating, the two's favorite thing to do together is lounge around in bed with their pompug mix dog, Buddie. (He's quite the hoot) They are so excited to do more of that in the years to come!
