Wedding Date on May 25, 2019

Latif and I first met in the winter of 2012. It was a cold, wintry night in February, but a friend was celebrating a birthday and insisted that I go out that night and celebrate with her and a few other friends. I decided to go, and settled on wearing a striped black and white oversized boyfriend shirt. The funny thing is, the crew I went out with asked why I would wear such a shirt to a night out- they said I looked like a ‘referee’. Well, that was the best ‘call’ of my life, because that shirt was the very reason my now fiancé spotted me and decided to talk to me. He said he loved my sense of style and fashion and from there we began talking. At the time, I was still struggling with the loss of my mother and had difficulty committing to and understanding love. We separated for a bit, but love brought us back together in 2014, this time via social media! We went to dinner a few days later and rekindled our flame during restaurant week. We had a few ups and downs, and even separated for a bit, but love brought us back together, because we both learned and experienced that true love never fails. As members of Christian Cultural Center, we have gained a deeper understanding of love, and most importantly the qualities a man should possess. Latif is the example of that man! He is consistent, mature, strong and has always been decisive about me. We are best friends, and I could not imagine this journey called life without him. We are so blessed to be sharing this experience together and look forward to more love and life in the years to come.
