Emily loves her dogs, her people, and life. She is smart, funny, and the funnest person to be around (even in quarantine). She is always so thoughtful and caring. She loves to give gifts and do service for others, especially the ones that she loves. She is a genuine friend and isn't afraid to call it as she sees it. Tanner is a gentle soul with a side of "dad jokes." Tanner is a giving friend, an excellent listener, a hard worker, and a dedicated friend and partner. He really does love people as they are, and unconditionally. Tanner and I met over ten years ago when we were sophomores in high school in our homecoming dance group. Two years later, as seniors, we began dating and fell in love. I moved to New Orleans for my undergraduate education and we dated long distance even after he left for his LDS mission. We eventually went our separate ways. Life brought us back together in 2018 and we nearly instantly felt that same connection we felt when we were younger. Now we are getting married! We were high school sweethearts! The first time Tanner met Emily was sophomore of high school. She attended a high school dance with a mutual friend. Emily transferred to the same high school as Tanner her junior year. They started dating in high school senior year. After graduating, Emily attended undergrad in New Orleans, Louisiana. They dated long-distance while she was out of state and Tanner was still in Utah. Tanner went on a 2 year church mission in California and Emily wrote Tanner while he was away. After his mission, Emily & Tanner started dating other people and parted ways for a few years. Tanner was previously married, but reconnected in 2018. They rekindled their friendship and eventually started dating again. Soon thereafter they were engaged in 2019. We are both from Salt Lake City. We love to be outdoors--hiking, boating, walking our dogs, and attending concerts or music festivals. We love hanging out with our friends and traveling. Tanner currently works at a financial software company and Emily is a recent law school graduate looking for employment. Our ideal day is a celebration of our long history together. We want to celebrate all the life we have spent together and the people who have been there along the way. We want a formal celebration, but for everyone to get to know each other and celebrate our day with us with great food, drinks, and lots of dancing. We want it to be fun, intimate, and a party to remember.
