Why You Should Consider a Vietnamese Wedding...

A Vietnamese wedding is important to both the couple and their families and has Confucian and Buddhist influences. There are many components to a Vietnamese wedding but two of the main ones are the lễ ăn hỏi, or bethrothal ceremony, to the lễ cưới, or wedding ceremony.

You or your partner grew up knowing and living Vietnamese customs or one or both of your families are from Vietnam and you want to honor your heritage.

A Vietnamese wedding is important to both the couple and their families and has Confucian and Buddhist influences. Prior to the wedding is the Le An Hoi when the groom's family brings the bride and her family betrothal presents, typically covered with red cloth. On the wedding day is the Le Cuoi, a gift-bearing parade led by the couple deemed most successful so as to wish the soonlyweds a blessed life together.

What Is a Vietnamese Wedding?

Many modern Vietnamese couples now have their wedding ceremony in temples or churches; however, they still keep with tradition in the bride’s home before heading to these other venues. The traditional attire is the áo dài, a long shirt with pants, which can be customized through color, embellishments, sleeves and more.
