Wedding Date on Oct 12, 2019

Simona and Corbin were sent from heaven to us. They came to us last minute, from the first time we got on the phone with them we just clicked as if we were friends from long ago. On the questionnaire we sent to them Simona wrote this and we loved it: Have you ever sat in a classroom and thought "Hm that person over there will be the man or woman I marry in 7 years?" Well, Simona and Corbin sure did not think that, but that is exactly where their paths would lead one day. Her first impression of him was, "How can that boy fall asleep daily in the first row of our BIO 1802 lecture and still beat me on all the tests?" His first impression of her was, "She is the most beautiful person at Appalachian State University." In the spring of 2014, Corbin and Simona were randomly matched to hold office hours for students interested in the health field. While they certainly chatted to pre-med freshmen about their aspirations, the majority of their office time was spent talking to each other. Simona shared her passion for her psychology, dance and travel, while Corbin chatted about medicine, his family and that $4000 wine. Their conversations could not and would not stop there. While traveling with her family over the summer, Simona sent letters and post cards to Corbin of all the places she would like to share with him one day, the Seven Rila lakes being one of them. In the fall of 2014, as Simona laid out her to-do list for her master thesis, Corbin drafted his plan of how he would win her heart. He figured Ed Sheeran was the ticket, or two. At a party Corbin overheard that Simona bought a ticket to an Ed Sheeran concert. Knowing only one of his songs, he informed her that she shouldn't go to a concert alone on her birthday, so he bought a ticket too. It wasn't until the day after the party, that Corbin realized his tipsy self had bought a ticket...but it was across the stadium from Simona's seat. Being certain that he could resell his ticket, Corbin bought another ticket, in the same section as her. (He was not able to resell the ticket). So, there you have it ... Corbin bought two tickets to an artist whom he really did not know just so he can spend a few hours with Simona. Naturally, she gave him a chance and this turned out to be their first date. As their relationship progressed Simona and Corbin overcame a lot of obstacles together. The second year of their relationship they had to be apart. Corbin worked at the NIH in Maryland, while Simona completed her practicum in North Carolina. During that year he spent 12 hours driving every weekend to be with her. Corbin drove over 40,000 miles that year, but they were worth it. The following year, Simona joined him up north and they even became roommates. They loved living near DC together. While Simona completed her final year of graduate school, Corbin applied to medical school. She edited countless of essays in her afternoons and it must have helped because he got in! To their mutual shock, one of the universities that made an offer was Harvard. Naturally, they accepted and Boston, Massachusetts became their new home. In July of 2017, Corbin and Simona traveled to Bulgaria. There, they climbed the high peaks of Rila and when they reached the peak above the Seven Rila Lakes, Corbin got down on one knee and asked her, "Ще се омъжиш ли за мен (Will you marry me)? Of course, Simona said, "Да (Yes)!"
