How Shane & Tanya met fell in love! We both had grown up in the Mar Thoma Church- She was from Chicago's St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church and I was from the Detroit Mar Thoma Church. We both knew about each other growing up and we had been both been actively involved in our churches respectively (Both of us played piano and led in our English Choirs, and were also involved with our youth fellowships). We reconnected in August of 2016 at a National Mar Thoma Church Youth Conference- Youths all across the nation would meet for 4 days. Shane was the lead coordinator and Tanya was one of the small group leaders (volunteered). We reconnected at the conference and an interest sparked. Shane started the first message after the conference and an exchange of messages happened for a couple months. We then had a break of conversations after this because Shane needed to get his mind straight. They reconnected again at a Regional youth conference in December of 2016 as leaders and began the conversations again with intentions. We started dating officially in April 2017 as we met each others families and grew together. Both families met together in September of 2017 with agreements to get married the following year.
