From the bride: "Ben and I met through mutual friends, but officially he DM'd me on Instagram to get my number and ask me out. Our first date was at church and he sang so loud I almost left that aisle, but I'm glad I stayed. At the time, I was a little more shy. But he has since showed me how fun it is to be unapologetically yourself, and now I sing loud at church too. After church, we went to Flower Child and then the Elephant Room in downtown Austin. We had a blast talking and getting to know each other. Conversation immediately was easy, yet deep and meaningful. Ben says at the end of the night he knew he was going to marry me. I wasn't so sure, which I now realize was just a protective mechanism, because I already really liked him. Fast forward 9 months later, we flew to Atlanta and he proposed to me shortly after we landed on a bridge overlooking the city. I was completely and utterly shocked with absolutely no clue we were getting engaged that trip or even that springtime. I always thought I hated surprises, but I loved that one. Best surprise ever."
