These two lovebirds chose New York as a their destination have the elopement of their dreams at some of Manhattan's most iconic landmarks. . Shannon describes herself as "Disney obsessed" and describes Roger as her "Prince Charming." The morning of their wedding day Roger donned a silver Mickey tie bar to express his mutual love of Disney. Shannon wore some very special jewelry of her own including earrings that belonged to Roger's mother. Her wedding ring also features a stone from one of Roger's mother's old jewelry pieces. . Over the years the two have shared many travels together, but there is far more than just wanderlust and Mickey ears that bonds these two. When they first met, they found they had some common ground on a deep personal level. Both of their mothers passed away when Shannon and Roger were young, and in the early stages of getting to know one another, they already had the mutual understanding of what it was to love and lose a mother. Both Roger and Shannon gushed at how they believed the other would be the most amazing parent, and talked about how they would take the loving spirit of their parents with them in building a family of their own one day. . The couple got ready at the Gran Hyatt New York. From there, they travelled early in the morning to have their first look at Grand Central Terminal. After that they braved the 25° weather to shoot portraits in Central Park near a frozen lake and on Bow Bridge. Due to the cold weather they almost opted out of visiting The Top of The Rock which overlooks Manhattan from 70 floors up, but definitely don't regret going! Their ceremony was held at the beautiful Bethesda Terrace and Fountain. There, they enjoyed their first dance to the most amazing live performance of John Legend's "All of Me" by a talented singer from the group Infinity's Song (@infinityssong) who happened to be busking that day! It was so sweet, unique, and authentically New York! . They ended their big day in Brooklyn, shooting at Dumbo Park, the gorgeous cobblestoned Plymouth Street, and on the Brooklyn Bridge. .
