One day Richelle was driving to a federal prison to interview one of the inmates. A fellow officer in the car said out of nowhere "Hey, I have this guy you should meet - he coaches my kids in baseball, he's good-looking, and he drives a corvette." Immediately she assumed he was not her type and had little interest in jumping into a new relationship, but after some time she finally got his number and set up a date. Since that point, they haven't spent more than two days apart from each other. Their time together is best enjoyed when sampling all kinds of exotic dishes, traveling the four corners of the globe, raising their adorable bulldog Rambo, and teaching Richelle how to hit a baseball like a professional athlete. Richelle has proved to be the light in Luke's life, bringing little moments of simple happiness by watching her eat junk food like a kid and adding new friendships to his life. On the flip side, Richelle has been awed by Luke's "all or nothing" approach to everything he does, including his work and his relationships. Having been a only child most of her life who had to take care of herself, having Lucas dote on her and provide a bigger family to accept her has been a transformative experience.
