Travis is my best friend. Our story started with a friend's St. Patrick's Day party, my creepy neighbor and me wanting to move away from him, and Travis' roommate leaving him with double the rent to pay. I met Travis for the real first time last St. Patrick's Day and moved in with him, basically a total stranger, three days later. Over music and movie tastes, beer, and a whole lot of Dominos pizza (who will be catering our wedding!), we became best friends, and over time, I fell in love with my best friend. But the funniest part of it all, is that we should have actually met at least ten times before (fate has a funny way of making you wait for the perfect timing); our high school football teams played each other each year, and when I came back to Virginia for college, we hang out at all the same places, had a lot of the same mutual friends, but it took us both moving to Dayton, OH for work (he's a baseball coach and I'm an athletic trainer at UD) to find what we had been searching for. It's funny how life works out! Our wedding will be simple--the focus isn't on how fancy or how much, but on the total experience sharing the best day of our lives with the people who we have shared the most amazing time of our lives with. I mean, hell, we got engaged three days ago (technically two, but that's because Travis had to wait up because my team's bus broke down on our way back from Philly and a 10pm arrival turned into 1:30am), and Travis sat down yesterday and said that he couldn't wait to get married and start our forever. And because we only have three times a year to even think WEDDING because of our sports seasons (4th of July, Thanksgiving, or Christmas), here we are--Thanksgiving break in good ol' Dayton it is! Who knew?!
