From The Bride: Fate led me to the "wrong" bar and got his friend sick on New Year's Eve 2014, causing both of us to spontaneously end up at Brother Jimmy's on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I thought he was weird for being alone on NYE. He thought I was too young. But, apparently, we were both good talkers (and good dancers) because we liked what the other had to say - so much so that we talked the whole night. Yes, talked. A month later we drove down North Carolina so I could meet his family. They turned out to be about as sweet, welcoming, generous and loving as you can ask for in a partner's family, so I decided I'd keep him. He liked my family too. Upon our return home, instead of lugging my suitcase all the way back uptown to the Bronx, I said, "Hey! Let's just unpack it in his apartment." He decided to keep me. On September 4th of 2016, he took me on a walk through Central Park where we were being followed...by a photographer and videographer (unbeknownst to me). By the water, he got down on one knee while someone sang one of our songs ("More of You" by Chris Stapleton) while playing the mandolin on a nearby bench. And since I pretty much blacked out during the actual proposal, I'm so thankful for him AND the photos and video. He did so good. Fast forward to September 23rd, 2017 where we married in front of our friends and family on a beautiful farm, experiencing the best day of our lives.
