From The Bride: I originally thought this love story was never going to happen, but here I am writing this lol. Mike was from Seattle and I lived in Chicago. Mike got a job in Madison, WI, and decided to visit our mutual friends who also lived in Chicago. My friends invited me to hang along with Mike and them and that's how we met. During that dinner I was shocked to find out that someone other than me knows and works with something as boring as electronic medical records. Soon after Mike started coming to Chicago more frequently to "visit our mutual friends." My friends kept inviting me to hang out every time he did. At first I really didn't like him. I found him annoying, quirky and weird—totally not up my alley. But he was very persistent. For almost two years he would text me and try to talk to me, until one day I caved in and started to really appreciate him (of course this happened right when he decided to loose hope on me). At the time he was applying to medical schools and was sure I wouldn't give him the time of day. But then, I started to text him and sure enough the magic picked up again. Soon after Mike kept coming to visit Chicago to take me out on dates, he decided to find a full-time job in Chicago and eventually moved to be closer to me in Chicago. Then this past spring he proposed to me with a massive scrapbook he has been making since we started dating. It was all our inside jokes, special moments, places, food wrappers, labels, tags and tickets from our love story. He even wrote me poems, and letters in it. I obviously couldn't resist:)
