I knew the leaves would be full of color! I knew the live band featured a special singer. But I was surprised as the guests were the couple had a choreographed dance, and they killed it!
In the couple's words -
We first met during Christmas break from college in 2012, when we worked together at The Bon-Ton in the Palmer Park Mall. Although we enjoyed working together, we never dated at that time, but followed one another on social media. In the fall of 2016, Ryan moved to Philadelphia to start his first job after law school. When Monica “liked” one of his Facebook posts one day in October, Ryan remembered how much he had enjoyed her company and sent her a Facebook message. We started messaging back and forth, met for a beer in early November, and had our first date not long after. We spent a lot of time getting to know one another and exploring Philadelphia together and became an official couple in February 2017. Since then, we have had many adventures together: we developed a new tradition where we celebrate “Our Birthday” on April 4 (Monica’s birthday is April 3 and Ryan's is April 5), saw Mumford & Sons in concert twice, discovered a love for the Easton Farmer’s Market, and traveled to Poland, Spain and Austria together. We share a love of cats, travel, and trying new recipes and restaurants.
We got engaged on October 19, 2018. After a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant in Philadelphia, Ryan convinced Monica to go for a walk, and led the way to Addison Street, a picturesque side street that keeps Christmas lights up year-round. Halfway down the street, he stopped, asked Monica “What’s that behind your ear?” and pulled out the box with the engagement ring "from behind her ear." He dropped to one knee and asked Monica to marry him. After a moment of initial surprise, she said yes.
