Shortly after Megan and Chase booked us for their wedding, Chase went in for a routine checkup at the doctor and was delivered some unfortunate news… he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
But "cancer" surprisingly isn't the word we'd choose to describe Chase and Megan's story.
If there's one word we'd use to describe them and both the Vaughn and Foshee's - it's "family."
Not only because of how deep all of their love and bond is with each other - it's obvious anytime you're around any of them. Megan was even with her parents Jim and Denise when we shared celebratory video messages getting to celebrate Megan and Chase officially booking with us!
But "family" is the word we'd use to describe them also because that's what they feel like now. As soon as you're around Megan or Chase you just feel embraced and the love and goodness that radiates off of them. This has been a year-plus long journey together with highs and lows that none of us expected.
Through grueling months of chemo, we weren't even sure if Megan and Chase would get to have the wedding they were planning, but Chase's determination and God's favor helped pave the way - 2 weeks before their big day, Chase was declared free of cancer!
The couple selected The Gulf on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, FL to celebrate their big day, and boy was it a celebration! Madison and her team at Madison Leigh Events curated such a gorgeous, elegant and refined day that was perfectly matched to Megan and Chase's taste.
The fun started early in the day when we set Chase up for his first look with "Megan" - only for him to turn around and see his groomsmen - his dad and 2 best friends standing there with crazy wigs. Soon it would be revealed to Chase that his dad and childhood best friend had shaved their heads in support of Chase's journey over the past year! CUE. THE. TEARS.
Chase + Megan's ceremony was right at golden hour and the warmth was matched only by the love pouring out from their friends and family in attendance. You could tell these two mean so much to the people in their lives and they all wanted to celebrate their story and their love!
After their ceremony and family portraits, we whisked Chase and Megan away for a breathtaking sunset right on the water! It was perfect!
Then it was time for the party to start! GT's Entertainment provided the soundtrack to the night and after a delicious dinner catered by The Gulf, some heartfelt speeches from the couples friends and family, and a hilarious cake cutting... it was time to DANCE!
You could feel the joy beaming off the dance floor as we saw a whole new side of Chase! He and Megan must've danced with every single person in attendance... and there was even an impromptu game of limbo!
The night was capped with a perfect send off adorned with sparklers lighting up the night, and the new Mr. and Mrs. Foshee drove off into the night as newlyweds!
We'll never forget these two, their story, or their love. Hopefully we did it all justice. This is why we do what we do... to capture these precious moments in time, to celebrate amazing people and their stories, and create a time capsule of memories for people to look back on and treasure forever.
